GJ Cleverley - RTW - Aiden and Harold

I know for most of the time I focus on bespoke shoes, especially when writing about the likes of George Cleverley, from London. Now I know that the George Cleverley's house does produce some very nice and elegant, classic ready to wear shoes, which I own a number of pairs. So when I saw the darkened "tan" Aidan and the full brogue which I believe is the Harold, I was thrilled. Here I give you the Aidan and Harold from George Cleverley from the bench made offerings. Nice, classic and elegant samples.

Purple socks with GJ Cleverley mahogany braided tassel loafers

Summer has finally arrived in the Nordic, today it was about 30 degrees celsius here in Malmö, Southern Sweden. Malmö is hosting the Euro Vision contest, so you can imagine the traffic jams and crowded inner city. So for the day I aired my GJ Cleverley braided tassel loafers with my Bresciani purple socks, which are made of very light cotton, very comfortable and appropriate for the day and weather.
The purple colour made me feel Papal. I do not like the idea of being sock-less, I know it is a trend, but I prefer my socks, my Papal purple socks.

Il Quadrofiglio - Carpincho fringed tassel loafer

For the weekend teaser I have sampled yet another creation in Carpincho or Capybara hide from Master Kunai Atsushi aka Il Quadrofiglio. The sampled loafer is green in colour and has the distinctive Capybara spots, braided tasseled loafer with fringes. Very nicely done. It is such creations that marks the bespoke shoe and differentiate it from the mass production or rather ready to wear. This pair of loafer paired ith a sober classic, elegant cut Summer suit (be English or Italian), could be linen, this pair will not fail.

Bestetti braided tassel loafer with apron

Yet another braided tassel loafer with a raised apron from Master Riccardo Bestetti's hands, I have sampled a Spring / Summer teaser for you and myself for the weekend.

What I like about Master Bestetti's shoes is: the fact that they are very masculine though not the vulgar "Arnold" or "Rambo" like muscled guy, no pun intended, but more of a "no-nonsense" taking "gladiator" gent, who is full of confidence,  very refined and maintains that manly soft touch of Italy. Need not say that this below depicted shoe has the masculinity, the "gladiator" look and the Italian male softness. As said the beauty lies in the little details.

GJ Cleverley - The Aidan braided tassel loafer

A few weeks ago I stated that I was in need of a loafer for the Spring/Summer period, as I have messed up my C&J Cavendish tassel loafer in Polo suede. Well long story short, as I was looking for a loafer to replace the Cavendish, I stumbled upon the GJ Cleverley "Aidan" braided tassel loafer in dark mahogany from the Ready To Wear offer.
After receiving the loafer was not sure what to make of it, so I put it aside, though I have to mention that it came with a nice polish finishing. That was a nice start.

So for some inspiration for the patina, I started looking around, after a while realised that I can try and achieve the Master Bestetti's honey like patina on my "Aidan. So I started the polishing journey on my Aidan and I am so much into it, that it makes me go "damn, I did a great buy" for the Spring/Summer. Profound apologies for the photography skills.

Bestetti braided suede tassel loafers with hans stitched apron

I have again sampled a shoe from Master Bestetti, a loafer, a tassel loafer, not quite true, a braided tassel loafer in suede. The pictures depict the process of making the shoe, therefore no need for me to add unnecessary words. Take a view and enjoy the process of this beauty being created, from start to end, more or less. Enjoy.

The hide lasted on shoe trees to take shape and form of the bespeaker's feet.
A close up of the lasted hide on shoe trees. Note that at this time the apron is not yet added to the loafer.
The final braided tassel loafer in suede with a hand stitched raised apron. Just perfect, wonderful. I really do like these loafers for the Summer.
