Inspiration from the Churchwell brothers

The other day I blogged about Dr. Andre Churchwell an American style icon, lucky for Mr. Churchwell that he has brothers that are also style icons. For Summer inspiration I give you the two Churchwell's, Andre and Keith. Very inspiring.

Note the reversed pleated trousers held by braces.

The Churchwell brothers never fail to turn out immaculately. Always very sharp in their dressing.

Vintage Ads by Florsheim

The other day I was watching China Town by Polanski starring Jack Nicholson and there is a scene where Jack (lost) one of the shoes he was wearing. It was a Florsheim, which was a Chicago (USA) based shoemaker. I remember as a kid seeing a full brogue spectator in leather and linen mesh by Florsheim, I was taken back, I thought it was so beautiful. Just to revive some of the beauties they created I found some old ads from an American shoe making era lone gone.

Spectator of the day by Gaziano & Girling

For the day, whilst it is Summer, I have sampled a spectator by Gaziano & Girling of England. The spectator (St. Ives) as named by G&G is in vintage oak and ivory suede, made on the G&G round last (GG06). The shoe is a made to order sample.

To complement your G&G spectators, pair them with a cream coloured linen suit, add a Panama hat to the ensemble, then a you will look smashing and dashing for the tropics.

American Heritage - Bespoke Vintage Shoes

Let me wish you all a very pleasant Mid Summer, here in Sweden (especially) Mid Summer is more celebrated than Christmas.
For today, I found this hidden gems, pearls from the time when the U. S. of America was on the same league as Europe when it came to bespoke shoes. Unfortunately today, the bespoke shoemaking has dwindled and some of the greatest American bespoke shoemakers gone into oblivion and an era of good shoe making gone forever.

Shoe AristoCats, shoe lovers & collectors from all over the world, the below depicted beauties can be acquired as they are for sale. Our American Shoe AristoCats may wish to keep these American heritage beauties on American soil.

Enjoy your Mid Summer celebration.
