Dandy Shoe Care - EG Loafer & Full brogue

For the day I have sampled two pairs of shoes made by Edward Green of Northampton, England, and both pairs were treated under the artistic hands of Grand Wizard Patina designer and artist, Alexander Nurulaeff aka Dandy Shoe Care of Italy. I picked up these two as I like the movement, energy and drive in the patina colour that takes both pairs to higher dimensions, thus becoming unique shoes from Edward Green with the helping hand of the Dandy Shoe Care. Hmmm...nice touch from the Dandy Shoe Care.

For the Full brogue, the stitchings and punching are highlighted and you see not only the beauty of the shoe but also the movement of the colour in the hide, just fantastic. The same goes for the loafer, it is seldom you see the toe part of a loafer with a spit shine, that mirrored gloss. Master Alexander Nurulaeff kept a very good balance between the  the original tan colour of the loafer with new the new darker toning, bringing attention to the stitched apron. Nice energy in the loafer.

Edward Green Spring / Summer 2013 offerings

Today I was viewing "The Shoe Snob's" blog and he had sampled some very exciting coloured shoes from Edward Green. I need not mention that Edward Green is a successful establishment from Northampton, though stopped their bespoke shoe operation when Master Tony Gaziano left to establish Gaziano & Girling also Northampton based shoe company, which was established in 2006.

Not so long ago Justin FitzPatrick aka "The Shoe Snob" predicted that we will see more colour trend on shoes from the established shoemakers, instead of the usual black and brown  shoes. I have to say Master Justin FitzPatrick's prophecy came true, when looking at the below depicted offerings from EG for Summer and Spring. Very inspirational.

Bespoke Tony Gaziano creations from EG time

Mr. Tony Gaziano of Gaziano and Girling (Kettering - England), was bespoke last maker and operated Edward Green's bespoke department before collaborating with Mr. Dean Girling to start the G and G bespoke shoe company in 2006. Mr Gaziano lasted and made some very beautiful bespoke shoes whilst at Edward Green, for the day I have collected two samples to share with you. Very elegant and timeless shoes, so well balanced.

Espresso or Mocca coloured semi brogues with medallion on a squared chisel toe

Side gusset with punch cap toe and a medallion, nice colour for the Summer. I will always recommend side gussets for those gents who travel a lot.

Edward Green shoes for Ralph Lauren

Edward Green of Northampton produced the below pictured balmoral oxford punched cap toe in brown leather and suede for American fashion mogul house, Ralph Lauren. The pair is on the EG 888 last which is a soft square chisel toe. Colour is probably antique dark oak and mink suede. I have seen many balmoral oxfords, but not in this combination. Normally the soft leather (suede) will be at the top of the balmoral stitching. Anyway, very well done by Edward Green for Ralph Lauren.

Edward Green of Northampton

Edward Green or EG as the company is known to many Shoe AristoCats is one of the oldest establishment from Northampton, England. EG started making shoes in 1890, their motto being "to make the finest shoes, without compromise".         


EG produces beautiful, classical, stylish, timeless English shoes. Today they do not operate a bespoke shoe production as Tony Gaziano left EG and opened Gaziano & Girling a few years back. EG offers Ready To Wear (RTW), Made To Order (MTO) and a Top Drawer (closer to bespoke) shoes, the latter being the expensive.


EG offers an endless of possibilities if taking the MTO or TD option.
