HRH Prince Charles and his patched grey suit

HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and the Duke of Rothesay (Scotland) and Duke of Cornwall (South West England), was recently spotted wearing the same grey suit over several occasions. We are all aware that The Prince of Wales is a man who recycles his shoes, now we can add the grey suiting to the recycling process. Here it shows that the Duke of Cornwall does care for his clothing, which are bespoke by Anderson & Sheppard. Wonder why the Prince Of Wales has been selected best dress gent over time. Well done your Royal Highness we can learn a thing or two from you.

How to pull the Summer look elegantly and look aristocratic

I have sampled pictures of the late HRH The Duke Of Windsor and of HRH Prince Charles the Duke of Cornwall in Summer outfits. Both Royalties look very good, stunning, elegant and timeless in their Summer outfits. No need to look sloppy, just because it is Summer. Follow the legends and look sharp, timeless and classical.

HRH Prince Charles The Duke of Cornwall in a white silk double breasted suit, crisp white shirt, tie and a darker pocket square. Nicely done as always.
HRH Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall. HRH Prince Charles in a double breasted light coloured jacket, light trousers, purplish shirt, pocket square a Panama hat. Oh the sun glasses. Nice touch

Prince Charles out witting the Nordic Royals at HRH Willem-Alexander at pre and inauguration ceremony

HRH Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands invited Royalties and dignitaries to a banquette pre to the inauguration and to the inauguration of her son Crown Prince Willem-Alexander. The Nordic Royals were invited as well as HRH Prince Charles as protocol demands. However my focus will be on HRH Prince Charles outwitting the Nordics in elegancy, refinement, and true classic dressing for a royal.

HRH Prince Charles is the "King of impeccability", he may not come close to coronation, but he is King when it comes to stylish, elegant, class, timeless and quintessential English gents dressing.

The below pictures shoe HRH Prince Charles outwitting the Nordic Royal gents in simple elegant dressing.

HRH Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall to the banquet in a dinner suit. What a Majestic entrance and greeting in a double breasted dinner suit, white shirt, bow tie, pocket square, hah not white but.... and that hand greeting, almost non-chalant. "Here I am, may not get that far, but I am a King, and not just a King, but King of Elegancy".
Here we go, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, single breasted dinner suiting, white shirt, bow tie, traditional white pocket square (no surprise). Too much shirt cuff showing and something which I do not know what it is, some white showing at the left vent. Hmmm... a Norwegian thing or a shirt untucked. You tell me. Not to mention the slagging trouser length and the side gusset patent shoes. Did I miss something about the dinner suiting shoes? Ahhh...only me..I suppose.
'
Danish Crown Prince Frederik, double breasted dinner suiting, white shirt, bow tie and the tad too long jacket sleeve and shirt sleeve. Missing a pocket square and no studs on the shirt. Ouch...

The Nordic Royals with Crown Prince Willem-Alexander who were guaranteed invitation to the inauguration of HRH Prince Willem-Alexander. HRH Prince Haakon(Second gent from left) slagging trousers and a sports watch with a dinner suiting. Prince Daniel (third gent from left) also sagging trousers-hmmm he never learns and lastly HRH Crown Prince Frederik, dinner jacket a tad too long. Funny enough all Nordic Royals opted for a single breasted dinner jacket, HOWEVER without a cummerbund or waistcoat. Ouch...ouch...

Crown Prince Willem-Alexander's inauguration ceremony, enters HRH Prince Charles in military gala uniform. Wow more Majestic it can never get. King of impeccable dressing.

HRH Prince Haakon of Norway, same military gala dressing but ouch....those trousers all swagging for more potatoes to be packed in.

HRH Prince Fredrik of Denmark in military gal uniform, looking good, did not get pictures of the trouser length. Pity

Prince Daniel of Sweden, in a full tail gala dress, looking good.

HRH Prince Charles on the little details that makes him impeccably dressed

Today I have sampled pictures of HRH Prince Charles in different occasions, but as we all are aware of the fact that HRH Prince Charles  is always impeccably, classically and timelessly dressed. Need not mention that the bespoke suit, perfect English cut and the perfectly lengthened shirt sleeves make the main posture. But.....but.....

We have to look at the little details of accessories that makes the look complete. I have focused on the little accessories such as pocket square, boutonniere, cufflinks and those who can pull it, the signet ring. Most of us will do without the signet ring. But worth mentioning.

HRH Prince Charles in the sartorial double breasted suit, blue shirt and a regimental tie. Now comes the little details: pocket square, in paisley blue and hint of red, neatly tucked in the jacket's breast pocket, boutonniere in the lapel of the jacket. Cuff-links and a signet ring on the little finger. Please note, not one of the sleeve buttons on the jacket is open. As we all know they are functional. So it should be. Hmmmm....just wonderful, simple yet refined and classic.

Spring - Pocket Squares - Accessories

I am not going into the history of pocket squares contra handkerchiefs as between the two there is a vast difference. Anyway ...pocket squares are the little accessories (not costing match) to vamp/vibe/pimp your formal /casual attire on jackets (formal or casual) or Winter Overcoats so they do not look naked. Never ever leave that pocket jacket or overcoat pocket empty! Would you step naked over your door threshold! Thought so. Pocket Square add a bit of dash and splash to the jacket or overcoat
! Happy Easter!

If not sure what a pocket squares is:  look below, HRH Prince Charles at a funeral attendance, jacket pocket with a pocket square though not white as expected (formal) but colourful complementing his whole attire and the occasion.
Well done HRH Prince Charles.
HRH Prince Charles, a pocket square not conventional white as expected for the evening wearing a dinner suit, but a dash and splash pocket square for the evening, not many men can pull that trigger.

HRH Prince Charles at Crockett and Jones 2013

Earlier in the year His Royal Highness Prince Charles paid a royal visit to Northampton, England the heart of English shoe industry and visited the Crockett and Jones shoe company.
What I understand from the press is that HRH Prince Charles was fitted on the Belgrave (pictured below) which is on the 337 Last, however modified to fit his taste and liking.
If I have correctly observed HRH Prince Charles prefers the more rounded toe for his Oxford shoes, probably the reason for the modification. The Belgrave is on the 337 last which is soft squared and chiseled, perhaps it was a bit too fashion forward for HRH.
My favourite last from C and J as a matter of fact.
The Belgrave on the 337 last after a good treatment. Two below pictures sourced from Ethandesu blog. Nice shine done by Ethan.
HRH Prince Charles exchanging a word or two with Northampton dignitaries. Note that HRH Prince Charles is wearing a double breasted POW (Prince of Wales suit) paired with a pocket square and the obligatory tie.  The colour combination of the suit, shirt and pocket square are in perfect harmony. No wonder HRH has been several times nominated England's best dressed man.

Inspirational Winter overcoats

As inspiration for the coming cold weather, a good looking, classical, well tailored an fitted overcoat is needed by any gent who cares about his looks and clothing and mostly to keep warm in a stylish manner.
It can be discussed as how many coats does a gent need? I am not sure about that, but a Chesterfield, a Guards coat a Polo and an Ulster overcoat could do for the basic wardrobe. (Follow here)
When bespeaking a coat the styles can vary, be it a Polo double breasted, furred, Ulster, Guards, Paletot, Paddock, Chesterfield overcoat etc. The fitting of the coat, material and silhouette matters. The coat must bring out the masculinity of the wearer, not be bulky but fitted and refined.

As the dear reader will note that the below pictures depicts men who have managed to bring their masculine side out even when wrapped and packed up in heavy cloth, they still manage to look very good, classical, stylish and pleasing to the eye of the viewer.

The below picture depicts an elderly gentleman on his way to "business" wearing a furred coat with a hat.

Below coats are just for inspiration as they are all modern coats that can be bespoken with your tailor. Green double breasted overcoat

Grey Herringbone Paddock overcoat. If you look at the back of the coat (mirror view) you will note that the back of the coat is pleated on the sides. In Navy this is the ultimate formal coat.
