How to care for your shoes

For any Gent, Shoe AristoCat, it is very important to take good care of your shoes. Many gents have writen articles on this subject, and many illustrative videos are available on the Internet as how to get that shine and good care to prolong the life of your shoes.

Recall Rule Number two of the AristoCat: Bown's bespoke said:
( Rule 2 )  THOU SHALT NOT WEAR UNPOLISHED SHOES:
Unpolished shoes are a disgrace to God and man. This is a truth I learnt from my dear Father. Perhaps this is why I find the polishing of shoes to be positively therapeutic. Requiring concentration and a modest expenditure of energy, but no thought, it enables the mind to rest and find comfort. And the result is truly satisfying. Scuffed, badly-maintained shoes denote laziness and unreliability in the wearer.

I will not dwell into a bed time story but give you this illustration below of how to look and care for your shoes.

Remember that shoe polishing is an art in itself.  Need time to do the job.
No haste in bring the leather to life again, again and again

  1. Hello AristoCat,

Do you polish your own shoes and give them that spit shine? Or just teasing some of us out there?

    Thanks for the shinny shoes.

  2. Hi J.L,

Thanks for your query and apologies for the late response.
No I am not teasing anyone, I did use some hours getting the spit shine and was pleased with the outcome.
